ing a child in an art piece I want them as the predator and not the prey.
HAM: We know you were responsible for the key art for Nightmare, Killers 2 Haunted House this year. Do you provide art for other haunted attractions? ANATHEMA: I’ve been approached by a few, but as of right now Nightmare, Killers 2 is the only haunted house I’ve provided the key art for.
HAM: Where do you see yourself in the future? ANATHEMA: Hopefully travelling around the world to beautifully twisted locations to create more images and having a larger role in the horror community.
HAM: Has there ever been a model that has walked out or refused to participate in a shoot? ANATHEMA: I have always been extremely fortunate that most of the people that have approached me are performers and have been fired up to do whatever it takes to get a kick ass shot.
HAM: What has been the most challenging project you’ve ever taken on and why? ANATHEMA: As soon as you start adding more people to a project the more challenges will arise. The only time I’ve really had difficulty, which is rare, is when the subject is so scared of looking ugly so they try to be as “model” like as possible. It is so important to me that there is emotion in my art pieces so sometimes it takes a lot of extra push to get that out of people.
That being said, I am working on something now that I think will definitely be the most challenging project in my career to date. It should be announced at the beginning of February 2014.
