This year's official annual event of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education, will focus on special educational needs

he 2013 Saudi Arabian budget alone allocated $54bn to its education sector, including infrastructure build of hundreds of new schools and colleges. This represents 24% of total government


expenditure across all sectors. The International Exhibition and Forum for Education 2014 (IEFE) series continues to present a significant opportunity for suppliers in the industry to explore this fast-developing market with its unique focus on the new economic cities. In terms of development, the Saudi education system has also witnessed a shift in its primary and secondary school curriculum with many new courses, addressing the social and economic needs of the modern era. IEFE will enable global education companies


to gain insight into opportunities in the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and meet potential buyers and distributors of their products and services. The event is open to local and international

education suppliers and organisations, and also universities and colleges who are looking to develop international education and training partnerships and programmes. It atracts senior level decision makers and stakeholders from the global education industry and the vision of the KSA Ministry of Education is to develop the IEFE series as an excellent platform for generating alliances. The previous edition of IEFE took place in February 2013 and provided a platform for local and international education sector organisations to meet and form business partnerships across various educational segments including, but not limited to IT, curriculum development, special needs, building and construction, quality and accreditation, leadership and training,


sports and science equipment. Highlights of the programme included more than 30 countries represented at the


exhibition, 15,000 sq m of exhibition space occupied by local and international supplier organisations and service providers to the education sector, and 50 keynote addresses by international industry experts. Visitors were primarily senior decision makers from Saudi and GCC government ministries, universities, colleges, public and private schools and also senior representatives from international educational institutions and investors. The focus of the forum at IEFE 2014 is on special


educational needs, and topics to be addressed include special education leadership and management effectiveness, improving outcomes for SEN pupils and students – working towards social inclusion, using creative and engaging use of technology to support communication in SEN students to promote successful outcomes, and identification and development of creativity and giftedness in young people


IEFE 2014 is supported by a number of international association partners, including:
