Chatter SHOW OFF YOUR CPR

Send high-resolution digital photos of your best catch to cpr@kayakanglermag. com. Tell us the fish story; who is the angler, who is the photographer, where, when and how was the catch made?

BRIAN HARDY TORONTO, ONTARIO

“Like an underwater explosion, this big bass launched itself through the lily pads at the allure of a tasty frog snack.”

ANDRE RAYMOND LAKE ERIE, ONTARIO

Big bass fight dirty; this fish pulled Andre into the grass. “I am still learning to fish from a kayak and bringing the fish in can be tricky as they get bigger,” Andre says.

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA ROB CHOI

Rob fought this six-foot shark for almost an hour before landing, photographing and releasing it back to the sea. Watch video of the action at www.rapidmedia.com/0100.

MATTOWOMAN CREEK, MARYLAND BRANDON JESSUP

This beast of a snakehead threw Brandon for a loop and dragged him on a wild ride. “I was shaking after the whole ordeal,” Brandon admits. He adds the huge fish was caught on a topwater plug in shallow, grassy water.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON DAN WALKER

Dan doesn’t let rain dampen his parade. He pulled this bass from a dock in a neighborhood lake with a Senko on a dropshot rig.

KEN KREHBIEL TWIN LAKES, COLORADO

After noticing large swirls on the surface, Ken realized something huge was eating the stocked rainbow trout in the lake. “So we rigged up with heavier gear and started trolling,” he tells us.

The decision resulted in two trout over 40 inches long. Ken says, “We just took a couple quick photos and released them.”

LANARK VILLAGE, FLORIDA DONNY MILEY

Donny paddled miles and fished for hours to catch this huge tarpon. After a quick picture and a few minutes to revive the fish, he let it go. “What a great feeling it was to watch such a magnificent fish swim away unscathed.”

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA BRENT DAVIS

Air Force Sergeant Brent Davis was fishing the edge of an open sound on a falling tide when he spotted a redfish tailing down the bank. “I threw a blue crab and the fish inhaled it,” he recalls, “then the red dragged me through the weeds.” This was the largest of the drum that Brent caught that morning.

BRANT SMITH ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

Brant caught this black drum while fishing for speckled trout with a soft plastic jig and 12-pound test line. “We were both tired when I finally got the lip grip on the fish,” he recalls, “but the drum swam on to give someone else a fight.”
