AULAVIK 18 (A) www.getonthewater.ca • $750–$1,049

C

The Aulavik, named for a Canadian national park, is a hybrid de- sign. It has a cedar-strip deck and a single-chine, stitch-and-glue hull. This allows for a highly cambered fore deck, transitioning through the cockpit area to a low aft deck to aid rolling. The single-chine hull gives good initial stability and, with its length, it tracks well but has enough rocker to allow for good maneuver- ability. Kits now available at www.noahsmarine.com.
