C&K expands range of switches for smoke detector applications
C&K Components has expanded its line of switch products for smoke detectors in support of the new European EN-14604 standard. According to the new regulation, all smoke detectors sold in the European Union must include the CE marking and comply with EN- 14604 standards, which require all smoke detectors to be equipped with a test button. The KMT0 Series tactile switch from C&K is compact and meets the requirements for the EN- 14604 test button. Moreover, the IP68-rated switch’s ability to withstand gas corrosion tests makes it suitable for harsh environment applications typical with many smoke detector installations. The KMT0 Series features a low- profile of 0.65mm with integrated actuator and an operating life of up to one million cycles. An ultra-low current version is also available, which extends battery lifetime. In addition, C&K’s KSA/KSC Series sealed tactile switches feature customisable actuation and button height. The top- or side-actuated KSA/KSC Series switches are surface mountable and deliver a specific actuator with a groove for button clipping and compatibility. The IP67- sealed KSA/KSC Series switches have a unique design that provides simple integration with an operating life up to one million cycles. The combination of IP67 sealing and gold plating offer a high resistance level against ingressions
CamdenBoss extends 19in cabinet range
CamdenBoss has launched three new UK- manufactured CamRack cabinet ranges designed for cabling, telecommunications, IT and industrial installations. Complementing the recently announced CamRack QX series are the SX SOHO cabinet, WX 19in cabinets and LX series 19in floor standing cabinets.

Another switch product that meets the
requirements for smoke/fire detectors and carbon monoxide detectors is the KSE Series of cost-effective, low-profile tactile switches. Suitable for identifying the location of smoke detectors on the premises, the miniature RTE Series of low-profile rotary DIP switches are available in surface mount and through-hole models.

Office) models are 7U high wall-mounted cabinets. Offering fast and efficient assembly without tools, there are two mounting profiles – variable depth in 20mm increments with numbered Us optional (template for wall mounting included). Features include fast fixings with π-turn locks, front door with tempered smoked safety glass, no rear panel or door, cable- entry options for top panels and cantilever tray included.
The WX series 19in cabinets are wall-mounted
and offer accessibility from front, rear and sides without tools. They offer a high level of security with a single key-operated lock at the front blocking all access and available in standard heights of 6, 9, 12 and 15U. The WX series features a recommended load up to 40kg. The LX series floor-standing 19in modular cabinets complete the CamRack family. Offering quick assembly the cabinets feature an aluminium profile external structure with die cast high resistance corners, four steel 19in sections
adjustable in depths (gaps of 20mm), removable side panels with π-turn locks, lockable steel rear door, π-turn locking ventilated top panels with cable entries and four adjustable levelling feet. Distributed load capacity for the LX series cabinets is 1000kg (static) or 300kg (dynamic) and a range of accessories is available including front guides, attachment sets, cable guides/clamps, clip- on support guides and wheel kits.

Swift Dock spring loaded interface arrays for docking stations
Coda Systems supplies a broad range of spring loaded interfacing components, test probes and test jigs under its brand Coda-Pin. Swift-Dock is the company’s new range of spring loaded, interface arrays for handheld devices and docking stations and are suitable for power and data transfer in devices such as: handheld computers; medical instruments; data-loggers and telecoms devices. Available in 2, 4, 5 and 6 pin configurations each one comes as two complete arrays ready fitted with Coda-Pin spring loaded contacts and contact lands on their respective sides. The spring contact side would usually be utilised in the docking station and the land side on the handheld unit. A PCB mounted behind each array with an optional electrical connector means the installation of Swift-Dock is straightforward. No soldering is required for this option and there are just two screws required to fit each array in place
Each side of the interface is available to order separately and if Swift-Dock is included in the
Quick action lock secures RobiFix spot welding connectors
Heavy duty connectors for robotic arms used in spot welding and other high power applications can be quickly secured and released with the new RobiFix-Lock from Multi-Contact. The rugged locking units are designed for the company's RobiFix electrical connectors for use in robot dresspacks.
Suitable for fixed welding robots, their ease of use makes them just as useful for on-the-fly locking of connectors in manual welding applications as well as for automatic tool changers.

www.coda-systems.co.uk Flexible connector solutions from GTK
GTK UK has launched an extensive new range of ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connectors for FFC and FPC cable on 0.5mm or 1.0mm pitch. This connector range is intended for use when connecting displays to PCBs and can also be used as an alternative to traditional ribbon cable connectors for connection between boards where PCB space is at a premium.
Both the 0.5mm and 1.0mm pitch connector
ranges are available for vertical or horizontal cable entry. The horizontal connectors offer the option of top (upper) or bottom (lower) contacts and are available with slide or flip actuators. The slide actuator is the most versatile and offers a high level of cable retention, whilst the flip actuator is particularly suited to mid-board applications. The 0.5mm pitch family are available in 4-60 ways and the 1.0mm pitch in up to 30 positions. Both are supplied in tape and reel packaging as standard, with tube packaging available on request. Commenting Caroline Ebbage, Business Manager for connectors at GTK said, “Our ZIF

19” instrument enclosures for 3U equipment
INSTRUMET is the latest range of 19” instrument enclosures from METCASE. Offering versatile and light weight cases that conform to DIN 41494 and IEC 297-1 standards for 19” equipment the enclosures are designed to accept standard 3U subracks and chassis, and are available in three sizes: 3U x 10.5” x 350 mm, 3U x 19” x 350 mm and 3U x 19” x 450 mm. Two versions are available with ABS side handles for desktop use, or a tough diecast tilt and swivel carry handle bar for portable applications. The INSTRUMET 19” enclosure’s fixings are hidden on the underside. The enclosures are manufactured in aluminium which gives them a significant weight advantage over other steel 19” housings on the market.
connectors are widely used for connecting displays to the PCB and as a cost-effective, space-saving alternative in applications where ribbon cables may previously been used to connect boards. In addition to our standard range we also offer alternative connector heights or PCB layouts, Low Insertion Force connectors and made-to-measure FFC cable jumpers.”

The assembly consists of two diecast front bezels, the top and base covers and a removable rear panel. The base and rear panels have ventilation slots for cooling. All models have internal support rails which
ensure easy installation of heavy subracks or chassis. The case parts are painted in a modern colour combination of window grey, RAL 7040 (bezel), and light grey, RAL 7035 (top, base & rear panel). The front bezels have caged nut apertures for
recognition for both Canadian and US standards (cURus), and are one of the few connectors for the automotive industry to meet all the requirements for UL recognition.
