It’s the new school year! So go straight to the top of the class by sharing these 15 planet-saving tips with your friends and teachers...

1

PLANT A TREE AT YOUR SCHOOL!

Grow your own tree and Forest Nation will plant another one in a developing country. Then you and your

classmates can learn about caring for the environment and tree planting in developing

countries. Brilliant! Head over to forestnation.com to find out more.

3

DON’T LEAVE BLANK PAGES IN YOUR EXERCISE BOOKS — use all the room available to help save trees!

4 5 TURN OUT

THE LIGHTS if you’re the last person

to leave the classroom. And remind your teacher to do it, too!

6

Before you throw away your plastic water bottle, think of all the

creative things it could be turned into! You could make a pencil pot, a bird feeder or even fill it with uncooked rice or lentils and use it as a maraca in music lessons!

2

If buttons fall off your cardigans or blazer, think

before you buy new ones! Use old buttons from other clothes — even if they don’t match — to give yourself a funky and unique look! Make sure it’s ok with your teacher first, though!

Form an eco-team with your friends and help protect the planet’s endangered species! You could have a sponsored cupcake sale for charity or adopt an endangered animal! Visit wwf.org.uk/donate to find out more!
