Wireless measurement with thermal imaging cameras

Models from the Fluke Ti(R)1xx family can receive captured data from Fluke CNX 3000 wireless testers at distances of up to 20m and display them. orbar Torque Tools has appointed Alan Collins as its new Torque Wrench Facility Manufacturing Manager. The appointment comes during a period of expansion for the Banbury based firm which recently began a phased move to a new 170,000 sq ft site on Wildmere Road in the town. Collins will be responsible for managing the Torque Wrench manufacturing facility and leading the Wildmere Road team through an exciting period of growth. Collins brings a wealth of manufacturing and staff development experience to Norbar, as he joins from Abingdon and Witney College where he was an Engineering Lecturer, following more than a decade in Tier 1 Automotive including Intier Automotive Interior Systems. Stuart Harvey, managing director of Softstart UK, explains explosion protection for electrical and non-electrical equipment ATEX 95 applies to equipment and protective systems used in or near potentially explosive atmospheres. The directive recognise and explosion danger where there is a


possible ignition source (flame, spark, hot spot, etc) in combination with sufficient oxygen and fuel – gas, mist, vapour or dust, including methane, hydrogen, coal dust, sawdust, flour, cocoa powder, sugar dust and many others. The regulations apply to all equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres, whether electrical or mechanical, including protective systems. They different zones of risk; zone 0, zone 1 and zone 2 for gases, and zone 20, zone 21 and zone 22 for dust. Zone 0/20 is defined as an area in which an explosive mixture is continuously present or is present for long periods.
