Bert Lauwers, FSME, Professor, KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium) Since the program's inception in 1986, there have been more than 350 SME members who have been elected to the SME College of Fellows. A Fellows' nominee must be an SME member in good standing who is recognized by the manufacturing community as a contributor to the social, technological and educational aspects of the profession; possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in engi- neering experience; have at least 20 years of experience in a manufacturing-related area; and be nominated by an honorary, fellow, life or member of SME. Any one of these initiators must submit a completed nomination packet, including current data on nominee's accomplishments, nomination form and formal letters of support/rec- ommendation from initiator and sponsors. Nominations are currently being sought for the 2014 SME College of Fellows. The submission deadline is December 1, 2013; additional nomination information is available at www.sme.org/fellows.
