Plantworx Review

TowerLight Clean Up At Plantworx “With the Plantworx organisers actively promoting the ‘working’ aspect of their show, we decided that this would be a great opportunity to demonstrate all the features and benefits of our Wash Rack product in operation,” said Paul Hay, director of Tower Light’s UK subsidiary. “This proved to be a wise decision on our behalf as we had keen interest in the Wash Rack right through the three days,” added Paul. With over twenty personal demonstrations to interested parties completed during

Plantworx, Tower Light is predicting another surge of sales of their Wash Rack in the coming months from rental outlets and builders merchants. The Wash Rack has been designed to help thoroughly clean a line of plant and

machinery whilst protecting the wider environment from contaminates commonly found on construction equipment. It operates from recycled water and therefore alleviates the need to apply for a discharge licence aids the safe disposal of environmentally risky material. The Wash Rack is fitted with a series of separation tanks that securely isolates diesel, petrol, oils, grease and other chemicals, making these hazardous contaminates ready for proper disposal. The Wash Rack is quick to install, it dispenses with the need to seek planning permission and helps to ensure that a firm complies with environmental legislation. Currently, the only other option is to install a permanent tank, which often will need both Local Authority and landlord permission at it will invariably involve some ground excavation. Tower Light has already installed the Wash Rack for HSS, Brandon Hire, Travis

Perkins, Speedy and similar organisations. The company has in their possession forward orders from a variety of hire firms that need to clean their plant and machinery on their own premises. In addition to the Wash Rack, Tower Light used Plantworx to display their large range

of environmentally sound lighting and dust prevention products. They also held meetings with many of their existing clients and as a result Tower Light anticipate that new orders with soon be forthcoming for their lighting sets and dust suppression units. “All-in-all Plantworx was good for us; we were able to demonstrate almost the

complete Tower Light range to our customers, whilst promoting our products to a wider market, who may not be familiar with our total line-up. Our participation at Plantworx helped us to keep in contact with our customers and in tune with industry trends. With the organisers claiming that nearly 12,000 visitors in total arrived at Plantworx over the three days, the opportunity was there to promote the Tower Light brand to a large number of representatives,” concluded Paul.

Plantworx Worked for SDMO SDMO Energy Limited, the UK arm of the power generation giant SDMO Industries, are celebrating a highly successful Plantworx show. “We received confirmed orders for five 200kVA sets on the opening day of the show and with the keen interest shown in all our equipment by the visitors to our

stand, we expect more orders to follow,” said Clive Dix, SDMO’s director. The main interest was in SDMO’s latest innovation, the RC1650 portable power station. The R1650 is a 1450kVA, prime power (1200kW COP) portable generating

plant fitted into a 20ft (6m) ISO low cube container. The set has compact dimensions and is designed to provide major back-up power for factories, hospitals and/or sites that require continuous electricity at short notice and where available space is limited. “The power rental professionals that scrutinised our R1650 all commented how compact the set is in relation to its power output”, continued Clive. “They were also

impressed with the new cooling system which contributes to a reduced noise output. One unexpected turn of events occurred on the final day of Plantworx when the owner of the catering trailer, who was plying his trade right opposite the SDMO stand, took away a Perform 3000 LPG powered generator to use to power his trailer on future events. He spied the 3kVA LPG generator and crossed over to SDMO and was immediately struck how clean the emissions were and the potential savings when compared to using petrol or diesel. “LPG generators are increasingly being used in

the outside catering industry as it is perceived to be a cleaner fuel and hence more compatible with food hygiene,” confirmed Clive. “With the cost of LPG lower than that of petrol and together with the associated reduced risk of ground contamination when refuelling, more catering organisations are looking towards LPG to power their equipment. We now have three products available in this range from 3 to 6 kVA enabling a catering client to power a variety of equipment,” added Clive. Although the weather made several attempts to

put a dampener on proceedings, SDMO are overall very satisfied with the number and quality of the visitors to their display area. SDMO Industries are one of the largest

producers of power generation equipment in the world.
