Student Led Paralympic

Athletics Festival JFS has always had a reputation for offering their students many opportunities to exercise their leadership skills, whether through the Student Officer Programme, Head Boy/Head Girl team or through sport.

Recently the PE Department took out all the cones, mini-hurdles and foam javelins they could get their hands on, and held an Athletics Festival for Year 2 students (aged 6-7) led by the Sports Leaders of Years 8, 9 and 10. The festival included various running, jumping and throwing games and activities for the Primary School students, giving them an opportunity to learn some new athletic skills. This enabled our Sports Leaders to show their leadership potential. As a matter of fact, the Festival was used as part of the ‘Passport Scheme’ for the Year 8 and 9 Sports Leaders, a scheme used to help train the lower school Sports Leaders so that they can lead even more sports activities

The PE department are very proud of the Team’s success and look forward to further competitions in the future.
