Chinese automotive sealing systems manufacturer Beijing Wanyuan-Henniges Sealing Systems has commenced production of automotive glass run channel sealing systems using Santoprene TPVs from ExxonMobil Chemical. The company, a joint


venture between Henniges Automotive and the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, is using three grades of Santoprene – 121- 58W175, 123-52W242 and 121-73W175 – for production of the extruded sealing channels and overmoulded corner connectors. The corner moulding

The seat back shells and side panels fitted to the latest premium line of railcar seats produced by Germany-based Grammer Railway Interior are injection moulded in Sabic’s Lexan FST PC copolymer. Intended for use in first class


compartments, the new seats meet the requirements of Europe’s upcoming CEN/TS 45445 harmoised standard for


fire safety, which will come into effect in 2015. The Lexan FST grade (FST indicates low fire, smoke and toxicity) meets the most demanding HL3 require- ment in the new standard. “Developing our new


first-class seating posed multiple challenges,” says Lothar Winhard, general managing director, Grammer Railway Interior. “But Sabic


worked with us at every step, ultimately developing the Lexan FST resin as a drop-in material solution.” The ability to mould the
