Helping Dundee’s aging apartments save energy

Giacomini’s Matt Lowe explained: “Heat interface units (HIU) take the place of traditional boilers providing an efficient and realistic solution to cutting carbon emissions and fuel bills, whilst providing a safe and easy way to maintain closed circuit wet heating and hot water systems.” The new development’s HIU’s are

powered from a central source which distributes hot water to each individual apartment within the four blocks, the units which have an integral heat exchanger and energy meter are connected to a pre- payment system, cutting wasted energy and ensuring tenants only pay for what they use. “We’re pleased with how the
