REINFORCING THE ROLE OF SOLICITORS IN OUR COMMUNITY
As the voice of the profession, we have a duty to make sure the combined wisdom of our members is heard in the wider community and that solicitors continue to play a positive role in shaping our society.
Law Society Committees
Members have the opportunity to make a direct impact on law reform and policy development by serving on one of 19 expert policy and practice committees. Law Society committees bring solicitors together to actively engage in law reform through policy submissions. They also provide solicitors with a range of useful resources in specific areas of practice. Members of the Law Society are invited to apply for committee positions in September each year.

Regional Law Societies
A network of 29 regional law societies provides representation for solicitor members at a local level throughout NSW. Regional law society representatives meet regularly in Sydney, providing an important link to the Law Society President and Council. The regional societies also provide practical support for their members through CLE seminars, networking events and communication about local issues. A listing of seminars and events hosted by regional law societies is available on the Law Society website.
