THE QUAIL MOTORCYCLE GATHERING
Good motorcycle shows aren’t nearly as common as those for cars, but the folks at Quail Lodge, in Carmel Valley, California, have a great one. As a sister show to the Quail Motorsports Gathering, the annual Quail Motorcycle Gather- ing celebrates the evolution of the motorcycle, with some of the world’s finest pre- and post-war bikes on display. The fifth annual event takes place on May 4 and will honor the 20th anniversary of the Ducati Monster, with featured categories for Antiques, Japanese, European, American, Competition, Off-Road, Customs and Modifieds, and Super-
bikes. In short, you’ll find what you love at the show.
Accompanying the Motorcycle Gathering is the Quail Marketplace, where enthusiasts can buy and sell their bikes. And the whole week- end kicks off with the Quail Ride, a 100-mile trip through the Monterey Peninsula that includes parade laps at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

MOTORSPORTS MITTY The Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty presented by Mazda, the oldest and largest historic car event on the East Coast, will celebrate its 37th year at Road Atlanta from April 26 to 28, with road racing legend David Hobbs as grand marshal. Sanctioned by Historic Sportscar Racing, Ltd., the Mitty will bring together cars from 1950s classics through current models, and the featured marque will be MG. The event will also include a reunion of Can Am racing cars.
