Following our big feature last month on the opening of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Park World is pleased to show you some of the other attractions at this much-talked waterpark

Bandit Bomber by Vekoma

ocated ay Yas Island, adjacent to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the highly themed AED900 million ($235m/€180m) waterpark features 43 rides, slides and attractions spread over 15 hectares (37 acres). The park's ‘Lost Pearl’ storyline follows the adventures of a young Emirati girl in search of a legendary pearl that brought prosperity to her village. A highlght is Vekoma Rides Manufacturing’s first Splash Party interactive water coaster, Bandit Bomber. Over half a kilometre-long (515m), it is built to a custom design but uses the proven technology from the Dutch designer, notably from its Suspended Family Coaster. Each four-seater car is equipped with water bombs and laser guns (realised in partnership

L

with Lagotronics) that riders can activate as they pass over designated splash zones – activating various effects and soaking fellow waterpark guests. The ride features two lift sections, the tallest 23-

metres-tall, and travels at up to 50km/h through a succession of hills, dips and bends as its curves around the Pearl Crag mountain at the centre of the park. Using seven cars, the ride provides capacity for up to 700 passengers per hour. Featured among an up-to-the minute package of waterslides are no fewer than 12 WhiteWater attractions including the company’s first ever Rattler MegaTube installation, the Middle East’s first AquaLoop looping waterslide, a six-lane mat racer, freefall slide and more. ProSlide has not been left out either. In fact, the fellow Canadian supplier is responsible for two of the larger slide installations. Falcon's Falaj (HydroMagnetic Mammoth) is the longest waterslide
