Sports Science and Safety A new study co-funded by US Lacrosse and published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine may help to keep athletes safer by identifying and preventing the incidence of concussion injuries in high school boys’ lacrosse. The study, led by US Lacrosse Sports Science and Safety Committee member Dr. Andy Lincoln, used video analysis technology to take a closer look at the common game interactions responsible for concussions in boys’ lacrosse. The researchers examined video footage of head injury incidents of 518 high school boys’ lacrosse games during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. For more details, visit uslacrosse.org/safety.
