RIVERSIDE TOWER GETS GREEN LIGHT


St James Group has been given the go ahead for its 28-storey Eastbury House on Victoria Embankment, SE1. The scheme, highly praised by design watchdog CABE, has been designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners and comprises shops, restaurants, offices and 50 flats. Helen Fisher, programme director of the Vauxhall Nine Elms regeneration area, said the scheme was one of many in the south London hotspot that were due to get moving over the coming year.

Argent flexes for TMT in King’s Cross


Developer Argent is in discussions to offer flexible leases for growing technology companies at its King’s Cross Central development, N1. The firm behind the 67-acre development, which will be


home to a giant Google headquarters, plans to provide around 100,000 sq ft for fledgling TMT firms. Managing partner David Partridge told EG: “Because we


own the estate we can have a blend of business types as tenants. We could give around 3% of the entire estate over to smaller but growing technology companies, and we can be more flexible.” He said a number of discussions were already under way. The opportunities to be provided by the growing TMT


sector have also clicked with Canary Wharf Group, which yesterday announced its plans to launch Level 39, a project that will see it be more flexible with its portfolio to attract growing TMT businesses. The firm wants to see parts of its sprawling Docklands
