Having managed the Boodles Tennis event for many years it became an ambition of Tournament Director, Vicky Collins, to one day operate her own event. Commercial activity, rather than tennis, was at the forefront of her mind, but with over twelve years’ experience and a passion for the game, it all pointed to T e Boodles Classique


W


hilst the Boodles Classique is renowned for combining elegant sporting prowess with decadence, Vicky oversees the


event to ensure it is a commercial showcase for brands and organisations to not only entertain clients of their own, but also interact with commercially like-minded entities, who often discover that a signifi cant percentage of their customer bases are mutual. T is is what Vicky believes is key to the tournament’s on-going success and why, with over four months ‘til opening day’s play, she has a full sponsor house and is 60% sold. In what Vicky describes as

a ‘slower corporate market’ it is a situation that she is thrilled about. T roughout the forthcoming months prior to ‘play’ the team work exceptionally hard to create great synergy for sponsors and partners alike, whose ideas are always welcomed as to how to improve the tournament for all. Encouraging discussions between all sponsors on how they maximise pre-tournament activity and in doing so creating relationships between all concerned will no doubt be evident before Pimms o’clock in June!
