hen it comes to luxurious getaways, rail travel has held an air of prestige since the 19th century. T is comes as no


surprise when boarding one of the most deluxe forms of transport, the Eastern & Oriental Express. T e sister train of that in the world famous novel Murder on the Orient Express, which travels from Venice to London, this journey held high expectations. Recently my partner and I were invited to come aboard this wonderful train which would take us from Bangkok to Singapore, off ering some of the most spectacular sights the Far East has to off er. We began our journey from Bangkok where we entered the Eastern & Oriental Express lounge at Hua Lamphong Station to check in for our adventure. Straight away we felt welcome as there were staff members there who were very polite and ready to assist us. It was here we met
