Expo Riva Schuh, Riva del Garda, 16th January 2013 79th edition closes with 12,012 visitors

Strong loyalty and internationalisation

An international focus that continues to reach out towards new markets and an audience which demonstrates strong loyalty: this is the winning combination for Expo Riva Schuh which closed the 79th edition with a great sense of satisfaction due to the great results achieved in terms of the quantity and quality of business and contacts developed. An event with a strong international appeal, which is clearly evident from the number of exhbitors (878 from abroad out of a total of 1,214, with new entries from Mexico, Albania and Lithuania), and also from the facts revealed by O.V.E.R.S., the Observatory of Visitors to Expo Riva Schuh, which confirms the ability of this fair to attract buyers from even the most distant of countries, and in particular from the United States of America and Canada, the number one non EU country in terms of visitors accredited on-line. On the whole, the visitors from North America come into the wholesale distributors’ category, which accounted for 58% of the companies who took part in the June 2012 edition of Expo Riva Schuh. Added to this figure are the large chains, who represent a further 18%. “To be able to create an event with such a mix of interesting products –

says the President of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini – capable of attracting new visitors and markets, yet at the same time remaining a point of reference for our “historical” visitors, is our strength today and what represents our added value. According to the figures revealed by O.V.E.R.S., 79% of the distributors regularly take part in both editions each year, while 13.1% have always attended the event. We want to continue on our path towards internationalisation, which, thanks to the Expo Riva Schuh India experience, and other meetings with representatives of the Chinese Associations over the past few days, is becoming continually more solid and structured”. This is the first fair of the season and a great vantage point from which to

observe market trends. Expo Riva Schuh also offers the perfect opportunity to get a preview of the latest fashion collections. “The previews for the 2013-14 winter season - explains Carla Costa, Manager of Exhibition Department of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi - have revealed the return of a compact ladies’ shoe, designed to make a strong impact, with a sculpted form, tending towards monochrome, or tone on tone. Amongst the male footwear, on the other hand, the trend is rather more sporty, with a British touch and a predominance of trainers and shoes inspired by the Clarks’ style”. This edition of Expo Riva Schuh has

also signalled the introduction of the cultural association “Amici di Expo Riva Schuh”, (Friends of Expo Riva Schuh,) formed to acknowledge the work and commitment of all those who have contributed to the growth and success of the event over the years. And so, Expo Riva Schuh can now file the January 2013 edition and look forward to the important landmark of the 80th edition, scheduled for 15th to 18th June 2013.

Footwear section continues to expand at Off-Price

The Off-Price Show’s footwear section of the show continues to grow and the first edition of 2013 promises to upheld and reinforce this trend. Off-Price, renowned for its excellent displays of fashion footwear, sports

and leisure ranges will see this March an increase in dress shoes, formal men’s shoes and work footwear, giving buyers wider choice, and even greater value and quality than ever before on ranges for ladies, men and children.

LJ & R Footwear, now a regular at the show have re-confirmed their

appearance for the Spring Show, alongside veterans such as, Patrick Shoes, Comfort Shoe Warehouse and Clearance Footwear in addition to a vast selection of branded and unbranded casual and sports suppliers. The Off-Price Show’s efforts to

expand the Footwear section of the event has been a direct response to the increasing number of footwear buyers attending the Show looking for new suppliers able to deliver outstanding quality product at a fraction of the price. The Off-Price Show takes place on
