GRS expansion continues with new Online Ordering System

GRS Footwear, supplier of the increasingly popular Ladies footwear brand

Lunar, are soon to announce the launch of a new Trade ordering website, which will offer current stockists a fast way to manage their own stock levels at click of a mouse button. The 130 year old company recently invested, along with new premises,

in a bespoke accounts and stock software system which will actively communicate with the new Trade website, giving customers ‘live’ access to stock levels in the warehouse. Retailers can then order immediately 24/7 on this site, with the order then being sent directly to the warehouse for despatch. “GRS Footwear has a reputation of quality products and fantastic

customer service, which has taken years and years to build and develop”, explained Director Martin Rye. “We have seen massive growth over the past five years and recognise that customers are keen to keep an eye on stock levels. The new system will offer the retailers the opportunity to effectively look on our warehouse shelves and see for themselves what lines are remaining”. “We have thousands of products on offer from our Grisport and Goodyear brands and every single one will be listed on this site”. The new system will also boast the latest in mobile access, enabling

retailers to view the site via smartphone – with access granted via password. Martin added, “We were keen to use a local company to help us with this

new launch, and we aim to have the site up and running by the Summer”. For more information on Lunar, or to become a stockist, please contact GRS Head office on 01670 716878 or email info@grs-footwear.co.uk

Philip Marsh wins Young Business Person of the Year award

Chatham Marine’s Managing Director, Philip Marsh, has won the Scott

Deverell Young Business Person of the Year award at the Marine Trades Association/Boating Business dinner. The annual awards ceremony recognises the achievements of both businesses and individuals in the UK leisure marine industry. Commenting on his award, Philip says, “I am thrilled to receive this award.

It’s fantastic to be recognised by the marine industry for the efforts that my colleagues and I have put in to developing extremely strong collections for Chatham. It’s especially nice to have been recognised for my personal achievements, considering the high quality talent there is in the industry.” The award further illustrates the recent success of Chatham, who was also triumphant at the prestigious DAME awards in Amsterdam only two months ago, where the brand came top in the Crew and Clothing Accessories category with its revolutionary sail cloth deck shoes – the first ever British engineered sail cloth deck shoe for the European market. Philip Marsh, 32, formerly a footwear developer at Lacoste, joined Chatham in 2008 as Marketing Director and became Managing Director two years later. Since then, the company has grown year on year with increasingly impressive sales figures, despite difficult economic circumstances. Under his direction, Philip also saw the company expand into new markets across Europe, as well as widen the distribution network of the brand. He added, “I can’t take all the credit, as everyone at Chatham has helped

make 2012 a fantastic year for us and they too deserve a great deal of recognition.” www.chatham-marine.co.uk

Footwear friends – London marathon appeal 2013

The Footwear Friends Marathon

Appeal last year was so successful and so important to them that they have decided to do it again – as their primary fund raising event in 2013. They have jointly pledged to raise £ 15,000 and all of this will go directly

to helping those people who have given many years of service to the trade but whom are finding life difficult at the moment. Never has Footwear Friends been so relevant as it is now! All you have to do is follow the link to our Virgin Money Giving page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com and follow the instructions OR send a cheque to Footwear Friends made out to Footwear Friends.
