US in top 5 for investment For the first time in more than a de- cade, four American cities have been placed in the world’s top five cities for commercial real estate foreign investment, says a new annual survey. New York was placed first of the four US cities, followed bv San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Houston, which was unplaced last year.

Investors look to the North Investors in UK property are increasingly looking at Northern destinations, says a top consultant. Stuart Law, Chief Execu- tive of UK and International property investment specialists Assetz plc, says UK buyers are not just considering the capital. “There is substantial overseas money beginning to come into the country. We are still selling a lot of stock to overseas buyers in the North.”

Government taken to court Two British pensioners are going to the European courts in a ‘David and Goliath’ fight to try and stop the Spanish government demolishing their home in Andalucia. They are taking their case to the

Prices forecast to rise Czech Republic property prices could take an upturn in 2013 and grow by 2%. Tim Morgan, Director of Emerging Real Estate, told OPP: “Based on supply and demand, we expect over the longer term to see property prices shift from ñ 4% (minus 4%) this year to 2% in 2013 and 3% in 2014.”
