24/7,” said Gary Seale, managing director of CTP Flexibles. “With the five new Titan ER610 slitters we have ample capacity to cope with current demand and future expansion.” The company manufactures specialised plastic
extrusion and flexible packaging materials mainly for the food, beverage and confectionery industries. As well as extruding a range of polyethylene films and cast PP films, it makes laminations, multi-layer films, bags, pouches and shrink sleeves. The Titan ER610 compact slitter rewinder has a maximum rewind diameter of 610mm (24in), a 10in touch screen control system and integral edge-trim extraction. The pneumatically controlled braking system provides accurate web tension control, while a digital edge-guide system controls lateral movement of the unwind reel to within 50mm (2in). The minimum slit width can be as narrow as 25mm (approximately 1in) at speeds up to 450m/min (1,500 ft/min). Optional features include anti-static control, laser
(line) core positioning and shaftless unwind roll pick-up from the floor – which was included on all five Titan ER610 slitters commissioned at CTP Flexibles.
