Bring sparkle to entertainment ShowLED
Starcloths are ‘curtains’ – often the backdrop to some kind of entertainment – that sparkle with multiple tiny lights. There are numerous types and manu- facturers – but ShowLED’s ambition is to design and deliver the most advanced star- cloths in the industry. The com- pany will be with its distributor and projection screen specialist ShowTex at ISE 2013. ShowLED custom designs and develops LED applications
for indoor and outdoor use, with standalone, DMX- controlled or video animated features, and what it describes as endless options for integrat- ing LED entertainment into ven- ues and performances. Together with ShowLED, ShowTex – which specialises in inventing, manufacturing, selling and installing flame-retardant fab- rics, tracks and motion control systems – will present a new col- lection of front-, rear-, and twin- projection screens as well as LED integrated studio and stage
MLA Compact’s ISE debut Martin Audio
Loudspeaker manufacturer Martin Audio is present- ing the compact ver- sion of its Multi-cellular Loud- speaker Array (MLA) technology.
Incorporating the same principles that have made the MLA such a global touring success, MLA Compact delivers this cellular technology to a wider range of applications that do not require the full power and throw of the full-size MLA, or where a smaller, lighter system is required – such as medium-scale tours and fixed installations. Sharing the sonic
attributes of the flagship MLA, the new system has a compact size that, says Martin, belies its output
cyc systems and XL digital prints combined with laser-cut fabrics. ShowTex claims that its in– house projection screen welding workshop produces the largest invisibly seamed projection sur- faces in the world.
ISE visitors will be able to see a demo of a ShowLED 9m x 36m Animation starcloth throughout the show. It features LEDs that can be individually controlled as pixels to create low- to medium- resolution still images, video loops and flash animations. Stand: 8-K275
capabilities: a 12-box array can comfortably provide coverage to a 5,000-seat venue; and a 24-box array will approach the output of many full-size systems. Other applica-
tions include concert halls, ballrooms, the- atres and houses of worship; it is also designed to act as a side-hang or front-fill companion to the full-size MLA. MLA Compact
boasts the same Dis- play 2.1 intelligent software as its bigger brother, as well as Class D amplification and DSP circuitry within each enclosure; and it can be remotely controlled from the supplied wireless tablet
running the latest VU-NET control software (V1.2.0). Stand: 3-C128
HDBaseT Lite matrix switcher Atlona
New from Atlona is the AT-PRO3HD44M 4x4 HDMI matrix switcher. The unit allows HDMI signals
to travel greater distances from sources such as Blu-ray players and satellite receivers – up to 70m over a single Cat6a cable at 1080p and 1920x1200, or 60m with Cat5e/6. Featuring HDBaseT Lite tech-
nology, it supports uncompressed Full HD digital video, audio, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and a number of control options, including RS232, IR, and direct front panel control. It has four HDMI input ports that can be switched to any of four Cat5e/6/7 output ports, and at the end of the Cat5e/6/7 runs AT-PRO3HDREC receivers (sold separately) are used to transfer the signals back to standard
HDMI cables. And as the AT-PRO3HD44M is designed to provide users with PoE capabili- ties, no power supply is required. The switchers feature LPCM
two-channel, Dolby 2.0, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 digital audio format compatibility, and offer built-in digital audio S/PDIF loop outs to allow audio to be distributed easily to an AVR or amplifier.
