Briefing analyses signage market trends Digital Signage The Screen
As part of the ISE 2013 Education Zone, The Screen will be holding a Breakfast Briefing titled ‘From Roadside To Retail’ at the RAI on Wednesday 30 January. The briefing will assess the key
drivers behind the development of digital signage in both the out- of-home advertising and retail markets.
While retail signage was the dominant part of the industry in the early years, more recently it is digital out-of-home (DOOH) media that has become the driv- ing force in the industry. The briefing will review the different business models and consumer research that have driven this development, using the knowl- edge and insight of expert speak- ers from all sides of the industry. It will also showcase some of the groundbreaking installations of the last few years and will look to pinpoint major areas for mar- ket development and opportunity – assessing the opportunity for

retail to catch up once again in 2013.
This special event – just min-
utes from the ISE show floor – will provide a unique insight into the latest opportunities and devel- opments across the European sig- nage market. It is aimed at media agencies, creative teams, network owners and equipment suppliers – and also represents a significant
networking opportunity. Probably the leading forum in the UK for the DOOH and digital signage industries, The Screen has held 11 separate events over the past 12 months – where a total of more than 50 speakers have entertained and informed in excess of 1,000 attendees. The Screen works with over 50 UK industry partners in developing
its events and educational agenda. In 2012 it launched its first European chapter, The Screen Amsterdam, in partner- ship with Kinetic Worldwide and with headline sponsorship by Central Station.

Once again, ISE 2013 will present a dedicated Digital Signage area to cater for this ever-growing market- place. Bigger than ever before, the area will be in Halls 9 and 10, and part of Hall 8, which has been added to the 2013 floorplan. The newly added hall can be accessed by walkways from Halls 9 and 7. More than 250 exhibitors will promote state-of-the-art technolo- gies such as 3D kiosks, holographic displays, retail displays, large-scale screens and outdoor solutions, as well as content creation and signal management. Beyond the Digital Signage area will be many more technologies relevant to the sector, including content management, multimedia control, commercial audio and, of course, projection and display.
While the dedicated area alone
makes ISE 2013 the largest gathering of digital-signage exhibitors any- where in the world, the additional technologies make the event a ‘can’t- miss’ for anyone in the industry.
