INDUSTRY NEWS McKinney Wins MODERN CASTING Scholarship at FEF Conference
Twenty students were awarded a total of $44,500 at the FEF College Industry Conference held Nov. 15-16 at the Wes- tin Michigan Avenue in Chicago. More than 280 industry executives (includ- ing nine FEF Past Presidents), student delegates, key professors and university administrators attended. Te conference
began with a career information session that gave 81 student delegates the op- portunity to interact with representatives of 43 companies in the metalcasting industry. Te information session and social times before and after the event were structured to connect students to potential employers in the industry.

Dwight Barnhard of Superior Alu- minum Castings, Mo Lynn of Fair- mount Minerals and John Keough of Applied Process Inc. shared their experiences in the industry. Te FEF/AFS Distinguished
Professor Award was given to FEF key professor Scott Giese, U. of Northern Iowa. Te Keith Millis and Ron Ruddle scholarship recipi- ents were announced, as well as the recipient of the first William Allan Hunter Scholarship. FEF’s highest award, the E.J.
Walsh Award, was presented to FEF board member and treasurer Rob Steele. Next year’s conference will be held November 21-22 at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Te following are some of this year’s scholarship recipients:
• Keith D. Millis Scholarship, Brennon Holenda, Pittsburg State; Eric Nixon, Trine University; Cole- man Housman, U. of Northern Iowa; Christopher Slinger, Wiscon- sin-Platteville.
• Ron Ruddle Scholarship, Andrew Oman, Western Michigan.
• William Allan Hunter Mem. Scholarship, Brett Hunter, U. of Alabama.
