D&M Tool Show Review
‘THE’ TOOL SHOW 2012 ‘THE’ TOOL SHOW, the UK’s No.1 Branded Hand, Power Tools & Machinery Event, organized and run by D&M Tools of Twickenham took place on the weekend of 12th – 14th October at the prestigious Kempton Park Racecourse in Surrey. The show, which is now in it’s twelve year, once again offered free entry and free parking for visitors and despite the continuing gloomy economic forecast proved to be the most successful for at least the last five years with many manufacturers recording record sales. Peter Brett and Anne Hall from ToolBUSINESS+HIRE Magazine visited the
show for a day. It was a good opportunity for them to visit companies, view new products and for Peter to get his hands on a few tools! All the leading brands in the industry were represented, with new names,
including Snickers Workwear and Laserliner, exhibiting at the event for the first time. This year several of the key brands including Festool, Bosch and DeWALT/Stanley were given larger display areas and created impressive displays including product demonstrations. Several of the manufacturers flew in specialist product experts from their European headquarters exclusively for the show. The exhibition extended over two floors with power tools and woodworking
machinery on the ground floor and hand tools and accessories and workwear on the 1st floor. Visitors were also able to relax and enjoy a sit down meal in the spectacular Panoramic Restaurant on the 2nd floor, overlooking the racecourse. Many manufacturers were
exhibiting new products, often for the first time in the UK, including the new 4.2Ah cordless tools from Panasonic. There were also practical masterclasses from experts in their fields as well as plenty of opportunities for visitors to try out the tools themselves. Exclusive show offers and deals were available throughout the show plus visitors had a unique opportunity to meet the manufacturers directly, compare products and discuss their individual requirements in person, all under one roof.
