Adobe helps nurture young creative talent with new online courses for UK students

A

dobe has announced the rollout of Adobe Generation, an exciting series of online courses designed to help students between the age of 14 and 19 to develop new skills that will put them in a better position if they want to explore career options in the creative industry. The new courses will cover three digital disciplines: Animation, Photo Imaging and Games Design, providing students with a real-world perspective on different creative careers. Each week, students hear what it’s really like to work in the industry from experts including games designer and animator Luke Whittaker.

The courses are designed to give students the technical skills that their future employers will be looking for, as well as to inspire them in their choice of career, whether they fancy working on the next Call of Duty or Hollywood blockbuster. Students are taught a different aspect of their chosen discipline each week, such as plotting a story line of a game or learning how to create a panoramic image, as well as specialist digital skills using Adobe software, including Adobe’s Creative Suite 6. At the end of each session, students are set different tasks related to the skills they learned which allow them to put their new skills into practice. There’s Adobe software up for grabs for the student with the best work. To find out more, visit www.adobegeneration.com or follow #AdobeGen. The courses kicked off at the beginning of October, but they are all recorded and can be downloaded so there’s time to catch up.
