Heavyweight backing for Wheelset Congress in Ukra
KLW, the wheel brand of Interpipe, is one of the Ukraine’s most successful companies. It was fitting then at InnoTrans one of the country’s most successful and famous ath- letes, Wladmir Klitschko, was on hand to promote the 17th International Wheelset Congress which KLW is hosting in Kiev on September 22-27 2013.
Klitschko, the current WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO Heavy- weight boxing champion of the world, and one of the most decorated heavy- weights of all time, told the gathering crowds that he is keen for the railway world to visit the Ukraine in 2013 and dismissed the myths about it being a difficult and unwelcoming place to visit.
“We are going to be the best possible host and I can promise you that you will be really, really excited to be there in the Ukraine,” Klitschko said. “You will discover a new country with a lot of
opportunities, not just culturally but also on the economic side. Everyone that is going to be involved in this Congress in a year’s time will come back, not just as a tourist, but also as a business person.”
Klitschko said that he thinks it is natural in his role as a sportsperson to promote Ukraine, a place which he said he loves, and the world got to know a little better during last summer’s European football championships which he said “was very inspiring for all Ukrainian people.” He also said he was proud to be an ambassador for Interpipe and KLW, a company that demonstrates the success and potential of the Ukraine’s industrial sector, and to sup- port the Wheelset Congress which will take place in the CIS for the first time since it started in 1963.
“I am here to make a better impression of Ukraine and to convince you all to come to Kiev next September,” Klitschko said.
