OLYMPICS REVIEW OPEN WATER OLYMPIANS 

A total of 25 men and 22 women completed the 10km marathon swim in the London 2012 Olympics. The

women’s race was particularly close, with less than half a second separating gold and silver aſt er nearly two hours racing. Disappointingly for the home crowd, current world champion Keri-Anne Payne missed out on a medal by four tenths of a second. In the men’s race, Tunisia’s Oussama Mellouli was able to stretch out a more comfortable three second lead over the fast fi nishing Thomas Lurz of Germany. ○
