(Continued on page 10) THE VINTAGE FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL “Farewell to the Swallows”

The Chamber’s most anticipated event is without a doubt the annual Vintage Food & Wine Festival. The Vintage celebrates the town’s official “Farewell to the Swallows” at Mission San Juan Capistrano. San Juan Capistrano comes together as the famous swallows of San Juan Capistrano begin their migration to Argentina. Their return each March is celebrated with the famous Swallows Parade. The Vintage is held the first Saturday in October of each year, with the 2012 edition planned for October 6. This is a very popular event for the

community since it is a celebration of the unique charm of San Juan Capistrano and the enchanting Mission San Juan Cap- istrano — all with food and wine from a large array of fine local restaurants and wineries. The weather is usually ideal for an early fall festival under the stars on the grounds of the Mission. Live music plays as guests enjoy wine tasting from award- winning regional wineries and a plenti- ful array of culinary delights from local eateries. The four-hour event also features dancing, casino gaming and an impressive

Proceeds from the event benefit the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce, a not-for-profit organization commit- ted to promoting a local economy in San Juan Capistrano. The Vintage attracts both those from right in our backyard in San Juan Capistrano to beyond Orange County, thereby creating and sustaining a viable economy and commerce.
