Lighting up Liverpool


The Clayton Square Shopping Mall is brought to life with the help of Tryka LED products.


The Clayton Square Shopping Mall is situated in the heart of Liverpool, close to Liverpool Lime Street Station. The mall has recently undergone a transformation thanks in no small part to the help of Tryka L.E.D. Ltd’s lighting products. One of Tryka’s clients, Studiotech of Stockport, designed and installed a brand new lighting scheme to give the shopping destination a more exciting feel. Tryka has previously been involved in a number of installations in Liverpool City Centre,which is currently in the process of some very exciting development. Tryka products have also been used at Bootle Car Park, The Cunard Building and Liverpool Hope University. Over 350m of Tryka Flexistrip has been used in the installation, creating a beautiful effect in the dramatic glazed arches and domes of the space. A further four Tryka RGB Module 36s with 25° beam angles were also used to enhance the illumination of the giant glass structure. Tryka’s Flexistrip was originally launched


over three years ago, and has since been used in a number of retail installations. The product and is now available in two power options of either 7.2w or 14.4w per metre. The UK manufactured Tryka Module 36, which was used in the installation, is considered by the team to be the pinnacle

of the Tryka product range, with an excellent brightness and attention to detail. The module combines 36 individual, high brightness LEDs within an IP67 anodised aluminium body. The module is available in RGB, single colour or as a bespoke LED array and is available in a variety of beam angles. “Tryka Flexistrip is powerful and adaptable, ideal for enhancing the stunning aesthetics of the dome, whilst inclusion of the Module 36s further enhanced the beauty of the architecture” said Studiotech’s Tim Ashley.


The finished


installation gives the shopping mall a little added personality, making it more


appealing for visitors over the next few months as the nights start drawing in.
