Business Transformation – how technology is changing the way we communicate, collaborate and work
In this increasingly ‘hyper-connected’ world of social media, increasing mobility and cloud connected apps we are seeing consumers driving the “innovation circle” and appetite for elegant, simple devices and apps.
IT decision makers in business risk getting sidelined from a new cycle of productivity and growth that is driven more by innovation and cultural change, and less by traditional upgrades to better systems and strictly careful management of sensitive data.
What do you think? From the power of crowd sourcing to an individual’s light bulb idea that changes an industry, what are your thoughts on disruptive and creative technology?
What does a UC deployment mean in your organization?
UC is a major opportunity for companies to reach previously unattainable business goals, while enhancing productivity and optimizing costs. However, many companies miss this opportunity because they deploy UC as a generic tool. Reducing business travel is a well-established advantage; but when you integrate UC tools with critical business processes and applications, UC takes on a whole new meaning and value.
From a branding point of view, it would allow organizations to toe the same line more effectively. Currently, the productivity and time lost because of lack of communication/information liquidity for internal communications is enormous. What does a UC deployment mean in your organization? Has the full potential been unlocked?
Everything Connected: the next phase of business transformation
We see the emergence of the real-time, adaptive enterprise where anything that can be monitored or tracked in a process that is automatic and in real time with M2M technology.
M2M is a great business enabler, but has real challenges for traditional IT organizations, when you have to scale up from managing hundreds of end nodes on a network to potentially tens of thousands. However, it’s not just about scale.
The Oxford Economics research showed the importance of so- called “intangible capital” – the accompanying investments in people, skills and processes that are vital to make technology effective. What are the real priorities to achieve business transformation?
The future of mobile...
The plethora of mobile connected devices and new services offer great opportunities for business growth. Businesses are able to give real time information to their customers in ways that weren’t possible before.
This information is available to the end user at the click of a button, in the palm of their hand. Services such as this are generating new revenue streams and growing business operations.
Have you seen any particularly good examples of operators harnessing these new opportunities and revenue streams? What more do you think needs to be done to really make the most of this potential for growth?
