IMETCO launches new rainscreen system The IMETCO Evolution Complete Rainscreen Wall System includes four basic components: • A metal façade ranging from solid zinc panels that will last more than a century to some of the best aluminum products on the market. Panels are available in a wide variety of profi les, materi- als and colors to fi t any design objective—with custom profi les also available. • A 1-inch air cavity that promotes air fl ow via the chimney effect to rapidly dry itself out. The cavity is created by perforated horizontal hat-shaped subgirts—requiring no vertical subgirts—with minimal fasteners, a design that results in negligible thermal bridging to a loss of less than 5 percent. • The continuous insulation is non-combustible, water resistant and vapor permeable, making it an ideal drainage plane. A high-density board designed specifi cally for this wall system, it features one of the most impressive materials in the building industry: stone wool, a naturally occurring by-product of volcanic activity fi rst discovered in Hawaii. • A water-resistant vapor permeable air bar- rier that stops the fl ow of air while allowing controlled diffusion of water vapor, which is particularly important in regions where seasonal temperatures and humidity fl uctuate. www.imetco.com

fl oor-to-fl oor connections The unique design of the SDWF fastener enables it to attach upper and lower walls together from the top, spanning the fl oor system and providing an easy-to-install connection within the continu- ous uplift load path of the structure. The inno- vative TUW take-up washer plays a key role in the long-term performance of the SDWF when installed between the screw and the sole plate of the upper fl oor. As the structure settles because of shrinkage and construction loading, the threaded portion under the head of the screw ratchets up through the tabs of the TUW. The interlock between the tabs of the take-up washer and the threads under the head of the SDWF prevent the screw from sliding back under load, providing a simple yet reliable means of shrink- age compensation up to 3⁄4 inches per story. www.strongtie.com/fasten

MBCI MBCI recently introduced its photovoltaic solutions to the marketplace. MBCI offers two different photovoltaic systems. The fi rst is a rigid glass-based polycrystalline silicon module that can be installed on standing seam metal roofs using a non-penetrating clamp that mechanically attaches to the seam. The second offering is fl exible thin fi lm typically adhered to the metal roof panel in a factory environment, allowing the photovoltaic ar- ray to be installed as the roof panels are installed. www.mbci.com

ERICO The ERITECH brand of solar bonding lugs from ERICO are designed to bond the frames and mounting structures of solar photovoltaic sys- tems in accordance with NEC requirements. These lugs are corrosion resistant and galvanically compatible with copper grounding conductors and aluminum photovoltaic module frames. www.erico.com
Rigid Global Buildings Rigid Global Buildings is now offering solar, photovoltaic laminate and crystalline modules. Crystalline modules are typically less expensive and generate more energy. They are mounted di- rectly to a standing seam metal roof with specially designed clips. PV laminate modules are applied directly to a standing seam metal roof panel using a peel-and-stick application, also providing a pen- etration-free roof system. The PV laminate solar modules are fl ush with the metal roof providing a seamless effect on the roof system. www.rigidbuilding.com
