of America (PIAA) says a recent Govern- ment Accountability Office (GAO) report, www.gao.gov/products/P00407, could not guarantee PPACA would not pro- duce multiple new options for personal injury lawyers to file claims. PIAA says in a June 5 Advocacy Update that Con- gress ordered GAO to consider whether the development, recognition, or imple- mentation of any guideline or other stan- dards under 14 different provisions of PPACA would result in a “new cause of action or claim.” The report says imple- mentation of the provisions is unlikely to produce new causes of action or claims because the law did not specifically al- low for such. • Repeal the Independent Payment Ad- visory Board

• Pass HR 1700, the Medicare private contracting bill; and

• Eliminate the ICD-10 coding system.
