From Fitness Manager to Entertainment Manager...Why the change? It certainly wasn’t a decision taken lightly as Virgin Active has been a fantastic employer and enabled me to achieve things I never imagined possible. Tey really made me realise who I am. Music and exercise have always been my passions in life and I believe the key to success and happiness is to follow what you believe in with honesty and integrity. Te chance to get on board full time with Potter Group, and use the skills acquired at Virgin Active to help my lifelong friends’ business grow was too good an opportunity to miss.
When did you first get a passion for music, DJing, and entertainment? At the risk of sounding cheesy (I am a DJ after all!); I was born with a passion for music. My family is musical and I grew up surrounded by it. From an early age, I watched my Dad’s function band and learnt the art of musicianship, presentation and entertainment. For several years I was the bass player in several rock cover bands. However, when I decided to take a break from this, Matt (Potter) seized the opportunity to turn a seasoned musician into a DJ! Although the world of entertainment has changed and is evolving constantly, the principles remain the same whatever discipline you follow.
What is your most treasured possession? I’m not particularly materialistic, but I’d say my watch. Being a diehard James Bond fan (Team Craig, by the way) this watch represents
What makes you cry? I’m a massive softie especially when it comes to animals. I have several pets and they all get spoilt rotten. My mum also banned me from watching “Te Littlest Hobo” when I was a child as I cried at the end every time…please don’t print that!! (oops sorry: Ed)
If you could be anyone, who would it be and why? (Male or female!) Mrs Potter, as she gets to go to bed with Matt every night…..I’ve heard there’s nothing Hotter than Potter!
Are you team Edward or Jacob? Edward. Cool, deep and strong! Although being a gym fanatic Jacob has the edge in that department!
What’s your favourite song and why? Te Chain by Fleetwood Mac. Such genuine and powerful lyrics. Brilliant musicianship too. I played this song many times with my band and the bass part gives me goose bumps every time.
And your favourite film? What a great question with an easy answer! ‘Top Gun’, of course! Te volleyball scene is without doubt the finest piece of film ever produced.
What makes you smile? Te answers to these questions……..and food! Lots of it!!!
