Northampton Town Centre has the charisma of a traditional market town combined with the facilities and appeal of a modern regional centre. Discover Northampton is an initiative set up by Northampton BID to promote the Town Centre as an interesting, vibrant and desirable place to work, live and play.
T e aim of this exciting three-part campaign is to inform people just what is available in their Town Centre, encourage them to support businesses within the BID area and showcase all that Northampton Town Centre has to off er.
On the 16th July, businesses in the BID area
were invited to the new and exclusive Borjia Bar, Castilian Street, to ‘Discover each other’. T e aim of this launch event was to get businesses in the BID area to learn about each other, work together and promote each other’s businesses to new and existing customers.
‘Discovering the diff erence’ September 2012: Phase 2 will see the launch of a new street guide to promote businesses within the town centre. As well as a map there will be a series of
themed leafl ets produced to showcase just what Northampton has to off er within the BID area. ‘Discovering the beauty’ September 2012: In co-operation with local arts groups the BID businesses will join with and support the works of local artists and photographers. T e ‘Discovery Trail’ will showcase their works in window displays in local businesses in the BID area.
In bringing together BID businesses and local artists this will hopefully not only create signifi cant awareness and interest for both the artists and the Town Centre but is a unique opportunity for Northampton’s public to discover what talent exists in our town. T e launch of the ‘Discovery Trail’ is due to take place this September.

October 2012 Discover Northampton’s Grand Finale ‘Northampton Discovered’ will take place on Monday 1st October 2012.
T e one-day event at the Royal and Derngate T eatre will bring together all the elements of the campaign in an interesting, informative and visual exhibition.
Businesses will have the opportunity to exhibit on the concourse of the theatre for the public to come and view and discover.
Later that day, an evening show will demonstrate the best of Northampton’s fashion and beauty scene, capturing the energy and vitality that lies
Committed individuals from local businesses have set up “Northampton Town Centre Ltd” (NTCL) to promote the “Northampton Town Centre BID”. T is joins over 104 established BIDs in the UK.
T rough partnership working and a programme of investment the Directors and staff of this energetic new company will ensure that in implementing the BID Proposal the vitality and viability of the town centre of Northampton is enhanced for the benefi t of its businesses, their employees and clients, and all Northamptonshire residents and visitors.
