The Jazz Roots concert series promotes arts education at its core – its goal: to teach, inspire, and enrich young people through unique jazz music learning experiences, from the concert hall to the classroom. Jazz Roots will provide 100 music students and teachers an in-depth look at the “behind-the-scenes” workings of a live sound check and the technical aspects necessary to produce a successful concert. Students and teachers will have an opportunity to dialogue with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, attend a guest lecture by a local jazz expert and enjoy the main stage performance.
