Aries Merritt battled both rain and a loaded men’s 110m hurdles field to win the event at the Olympic Trials. He bested both reigning World Outdoor champion Jason Richardson and


American record holder David Oliver en route to his personal best of 12.93.


Sanya Richards-Ross made good on her goal of qualifying for the Olympic Games in multiple


events by punching her ticket to London in the 200m and 400m at the Olympic Trials. Her winning 400m time of 49.28 established an Olympic Trials record.


Brittney Reese grabbed her fifth consecutive USA Outdoor title in the women’s long jump with her winning mark of 7.15m/23-5.5 in Eugene. Reese heads to London after having won the past two World Indoor and World Outdoor gold medals in the event.
