The Hilton Savannah DeSoto Hotel is located in Savannah, Ga.’s historic district. The 1890s vin- tage, historic property underwent a major renovation in 2009 that included a new porte cochére and entry lobby. Mequon, Wis.-based Super Sky Products cre- ated a custom aluminum-framed ridge skylight that is 21 1/3 by 20 1/3 feet. The skylight contains 800 square feet of laminated glass from Viracon, Owa- tonna, Minn., to mitigate severe heat and storms. Linetec, Wausau, Wis., fi nished the framing in Quaker Bronze using a high-performance 70 percent polyvinylidene fl uoride (PVDF) coating. “Shielding against aging, weathering and pollu-
tion, 70 percent PVDF coatings are some of the most durable available,” says Tammy Schroeder, LEED Green Associate, Linetec’s senior marketing special- ist. “These coatings meet the most demanding, ex- terior, architectural specifi cation AAMA 2605-11. This reduces the need for main- tenance and replacement, minimizing the associated time, cost and materials.” With the renovations fi nished, the Hilton Savan-
