Speaking up
This year’s NUT national education conference will be held at Stoke Rochford Hall, the Union’s training centre, near Grantham, Lincolnshire, from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 July.
The event provides the chance for members to discuss professional issues with colleagues from across England and Wales. This year’s theme is ‘Speak up for schools’ and delegates will be able to explore the Government’s education initiatives.
Speakers include Melissa Benn, author and education campaigner, and Alison Peacock, head teacher and leader of the Cambridge Primary Review National Network.

Speaking out
This year’s conference for teachers who define themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender takes place on Saturday 12 November at NUT headquarters in London.

Black teachers
NUT members from Asian, African, Caribbean and other minority ethnic backgrounds are invited to attend the Union’s annual black teachers’ conference at Stoke Rochford Hall, Lincolnshire, from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 November.
This year’s theme is ‘keys to the door’. There will be speakers, workshops, a Q&A session with NUT General Secretary Christine Blower, and a debate on whether the title of the conference should be changed.

NUT annual financial statement 2011
The Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 requires unions to provide members with an annual summary of financial information from the annual return to the certification officer for trade unions.
