Primary schools get creative to win £500 customised stationery

Duraweld, one of the UK’s leading producers of customised presentation, packaging and printed products is inviting Primary School pupils to get creative by decorating a ring binder to win a £500 prize for their school. Feedback shows that the compostable, natural board ring binders from Duraweld, are perfect for pupils graffiti-style doodlings. Students are being asked to use their imagination to decorate a ring binder from the new Feelin’ Green Range and submit a photo of their handiwork to the Duraweld website. The company will then display the best as inspiration to others and brighten up eco-stationery.

Abingdon Prep Boys School creates a fantastic commemorative mosaic for the Jubilee celebrations T

he Jubilee celebrations may now be drawing to a close, but the

commemorative mosaic created by the students from Abingdon Prep Boys School will endure for years to come. 250 pairs of hands, about 300 hours work and thousands of pieces of ceramic, gold leaf and glass tiles came together to create a mosaic masterpiece to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. All 250 boys from the school were involved from start to finish. The Head of Art, Michelle Kitto, used the boy’s ideas to create the design for the mosaic and then everyone helped to cut and stick the tiles. Michelle said of the project: “The boys are really proud of what they have created; it has been a lot of hard work but is truly memorable.” The mosaic will take pride of place at the entrance to the School.
