Research Project on Safety of Nanomaterials Project participants:
The participants in the COSMIC project are Fraun- hofer EMFT (coordinator, Germany), Commissariat à l‘Energie Atomique (France), IMEC (Belgium), STMicroelectronics SRL (Italy), TNO (Netherlands), Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (Netherlands), Technische Universitat Berlin (Germany), Friendly Technologies LTD (UK), Consiglio Nazionale Delle Ricerche (Italy), Universita di Catania (Italy), and Flexink (UK), Polymervision B.V..
The participants in the POLARIC project are VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland (coordinator, Finland), 3D-Micromac (Germany), AMO (Germa- ny), BASF (Switzerland), CSEM (Switzerland), Cardiff University (UK), Fraunhofer EMFT (Germany), IMEC (Belgium), Imperial College London (UK), Joanneum Research (Austria), micro resist technology (Germa- ny), Obducat Technologies (Sweden), and Asulab, a division of The Swatch Group Research and Deve- lopment Ltd. The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) and BASF SE have launched a joint safety research project. Long-term studies are planned to investigate potential chronic effects of nanoparticles in the lung. Total project funding amounts to EUR5 million.
Design Guide for Nanoparticles-based Consumer Products
EU-funded researchers developed product and process development tools that should enhance the incorporation of nanoparticles in consumer products, improving performance while providing economic and environmental benefits.
