anoco Group plc (AIM: NANO) has successfully produced a 1kg batch of green cadmium-free
quantum dots for a major Japanese corporation, trig- gering a US$2 million payment to Nanoco. Nanoco supplied a 1kg batch of red quantum dots to the same Japanese corporation last year, also attrac- ting a US$2 million payment. The production of the green dots marks another major technical achie- vement by Nanoco because green dots are signifi- cantly more challenging than red ones due to their smaller size. The green quantum dots were produced at Nanoco’s production facility in Runcorn, Cheshire.
The Japanese corporation is planning on develo- ping a range of LED applications that incorporate Nanoco’s red and green quantum dots including the backlighting of LCD displays and LED-based general lighting.

anogate AG (N7G.FSE) is expanding its Manage- ment Board. The company‘s Supervisory Board
has appointed Daniel Seibert (43) as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The rest of the Management Board remains unchanged, with the company‘s co-founder Ralf Zastrau as CEO and Michael Jung as COO. In addition to this, Nanogate AG is establishing an Exe- cutive Committee, which will consist of the Manage- ment Board plus the CEOs of the two strategic equity holdings GfO AG and Eurogard B.V., Gerd Leichner and Anthony Lucassen. Moreover, Nanogate finished the 2011 financial year with record sales of EUR33.2 million (previous year: EUR15.4 million).

anoH2O, Inc., manufacturer of reverse osmosis (RO) membranes for seawater desalination, has
closed a $40 million equity round and $20.5 million in credit facilities. NanoH2O’s patented thin-film nanocomposite membrane technology can purify water from a broad range of sources. BASF Venture Capital, Total Energy Ventures International and Keytone Ventures co-led the $40 million equity financing that included all of NanoH2O’s existing investors.
