Public Consultation – Have Your Say in a New Cultural Development Plan for Fingal 2013-2017

Fingal Arts Office announces a public consultation process in the development of a new cultural plan for Fingal. The purpose of the Fingal Arts plan is to create a vision for the Arts to:

• Ensure that a vibrant cultural life in Fingal is recognised as a central part of the welfare of the county’s communities.

• Set out broad principles and objectives for cultural provision over the next number of years upon which an action plan can be based.

The plan will set out a vision in which Fingal can continue to thrive as an area of cultural diversity and sustainable cultural development.

If you would like to participate in this consultation process, please submit your contact details to Sarah O’Neill, Deputy Arts Officer at sarah.oneill@fingalcoco.ie

Flavours of Fingal Show

The first ever Flavours of Fingal Show will combine the sights and sounds of an agricultural show with an unforgettable food and family fun experience. This two day show will take place at Newbridge House & Farm in Donabate on 21 & 22 July.

Public Consultation – Tobacco Free Playgrounds

Following from the success of the smoke-free playground initiative at Millenium Park Playground, Dublin 15 which was the first smoke-free playground in the county in early 2011, Fingal County Council now proposes to make all public playgrounds in the county smoke-free, and we are seeking public opinion on this proposal.

If you would like to make a submission on this initiative, please do so in writing to Ciara Monahan, Parks and Heritage Properties Division, Fingal County Council, County Hall, Main Street, Swords, Co. Dublin or email ciara.monahan@fingalcoco.ie on or before Friday 22nd June 2012 (4.00 p.m.).

Visit the farm section with livestock and sheep competitions, equestrian chases and dog trials; or drop into the Food Village and taste samples from local artisan producers. Other events on offer are live music, gardening expos, allotment development classes, biodiversity demos and interactive displays.

The show is organised by a number of Fingal County Development Board members, Fingal County Council, Fingal Tourism, Fingal Farmers, Teagasc and sponsored by Keelings, Country Crest, Bank of Ireland, FBD and Dublin Airport.

Programme details available on www.flavoursoffingal.ie or email elaine@fingaltourism.ie and to win free family tickets for the event visit our Facebook page www.facebook.com/flavoursoffingal
