U.S. Sales Boost for Fingal Craft Companies
ConnectIreland– YOU Can Help Create New Jobs!
A new Irish Government programme, Succeed in Ireland, will provide direct financial rewards to people using their contacts to make introductions to overseas companies which create new jobs in Ireland.
IDA Ireland has appointed ConnectIrelandto deliver this initiative as part of the Government’s Jobs Action Plan for 2012 which aims to create a minimum of 5,000 new jobs over five years.
ConnectIrelandis asking everyone to use their family, friends and business contacts, to identify and make introductions between ConnectIrelandand overseas companies considering international expansion. Any individual who introduces a company that subsequently invests and creates jobs in Ireland will receive a minimum reward of ¤1,500 per job up to a maximum of 100 jobs.

Eight small Fingal craft companies have secured direct export orders of over $66,500 with $329,500 in combined export orders projected for the year ahead.
Impressing hundreds of North American buyers, the ‘Fingal’s Finest’ group of craftspeople/designers signed multiple deals at ‘The Ireland Show’ in New Jersey recently. The trade mission was led by Fingal County Enterprise Board, and CEO Oisin Geoghegan said “An increase in export sales orders will help to sustain and create more jobs locally, which will in turn give a welcome boost to our local economy in Fingal.”
Fingal’s Finest Group (supported by the Fingal County Enterprise Board) consists of: Exclusively Irish, O’Rourke Art & Design/ Cottage Gallery, Irish Linen House, O’Gowna, Heraldic Gifts, Crystal Eire, Privatmark and Sinead Cooke Jewellery.

Local Fingal developer Cianan Clancy was the overall winner of the recent apps4fingal competition, which was designed to stimulate use of the Open Data available at
http://data.fingal.ie. At the awards ceremony, winners in the five categories were awarded certificates, and many local companies, academics, students and software enthusiasts were among the competitors.
All 21 Apps entered in the competition are available for you to download free of charge at

Organisations including the DAA, Fingal County Childcare Committee, ITB, IBM, ESRI Ireland, Fingal Community Forum, Fingal County Enterprise Board, and Fingal Tourism came on board as sponsors or judges for the competition.

The Greater Dublin Drainage Project has published a report identifying three emerging preferred site options for further consideration as the location for the proposed GDD Regional Waste Water Treatment Plant. The three sites are Annsbrook, Newtowncorduff and Clonshaugh.
The project team are now conducting a further round of non-statutory consultation on these three sites, the associated pipeline routes, and marine outfall options from 14th May 2012 to 6th July 2012.
Open Days at Fingal County Hall Swords where interested parties can meet the project team are scheduled for Thursday 14th June 2012 from 2pm to 8pmand on Saturday 16th June 2012 from 11am to 4pm. All interested parties are welcome to give their views.
