Assistance to Allow Older People Remain in their Homes
One of Fingal County Council's missions is to improve the quality of life of our citizens and communities. In keeping with this our Housing Department works with older people (60+), living in poor housing conditions, to help them stay longer in their homes.
We do this in a number of ways, particularly through our grant aid programmes which help fund repairs or improvements.
The Housing Aid for Older People grant covers many items such as re-wiring, replacement doors/windows, central heating etc. This grant is based on your household income, and you may be eligible for a part or full grant if your household income is below ¤65,000.
The Mobility Aid Grant helps fund items such as access ramps, level access showers, stair lifts and other minor works to help people with mobility problems. This grant is open to households with an income of ¤30,000 or less.
These grants are available to private homeowners who are within the income limits.
• Household income limits are based on the gross annual household income.
