Hillhead Preview The great outdoors


This year’s Hillhead exhibition takes place on the 19 – 21 June, in Buxton. Here’s a snapshot of what some of the exhibitors have in store


Amber Valley Developments Stand: 712


Amber Valley Developments says it is the biggest European manufacturer of reversing safety and vehicle battery and engine protection products, and in fact are actively pioneering new products for launch in the next 12 Months.


From its manufacturing base in Leicestershire, UK the company is introducing a new research and development facility, together with a new circuit board and harness production lines, designed to give the company the capability to compete successfully. It was decided to launch this new division as a means for people with ideas for new products for the automotive and construction industry to move them forward and take them to market.


Atlas Copco Construction & Mining Stand: T1


Atlas Copco will be exhibiting a number of high-quality drill rigs and rock drilling tools, including the versatile and flexible ROC D60 drill rig, ROC T15 roll over feed system and Secoroc EDGE range. Also on display will be the company's range of silent demolition tools, most notably the 6.5-tonne CC 6000 combi cutter, as well as small, medium and heavy hydraulic breakers, multi grapples and bulk pulverisers.


Atlas Copco will also be demonstrating small Tex 5, 9 and 12 chipping hammers, which offer vibration dampening on both points of hand contact on the breakers. Visitors to the stand will also be able to see the QAS 500 generator and DrillAir compressor, which has the highest air pressure in the portable compressor industry. Other key exhibits will include light compaction and concrete surfacing/vibration tools. Atlas Copco's stand will also feature a hydraulic breaker simulator that demonstrates two different machines - excavator and backhoe - in four virtual working environments: quarry; tunnel; port; and town.

Established in 1977 Ashtree Glass is a well-established supplier to machine manufacturers across Europe. Ashtree is a specialist manufacturer of mirrors, mirror arms and mounting brackets. Better visibility for machine operators has been a hot topic for a few years. Some companies import wide angle mirrors meant for use in other industries but Ashtree has designed and developed a range of mirrors, approved to European ”E” standards, for use on road going and off highway equipment. This year will see the introduction of a new visibility directive for telehandlers. Ashtree is already working with several of Europe’s leading manufacturers but the products it manufactures are available for use in the aftermarket for upgrade or as replacement parts.


Baughans Barrel Screens Stand: D14


Baughans is a UK manufacturer of innovative screening and crushing equipment, particularly for customers on a budget by offering them simple solutions for recycling. At Hillhead, the company will be exhibiting the Jobber Crusher on tracks which has an output of 10-20 tonnes/h, as well as the Middi three-way split which offers efficient three way screening in one pass with an output of 20-40 tonnes/hour (wheeled or tracked). Baughans will also be showing its bucket concrete crusher and grapples from the Hawkfawk range.


BG Europa Stand: U12


BG Europa will be promoting its extensive range of products for the aggregates, asphalt and recycling industries at Hillhead. The Bury St Edmunds-based company BG Europa (UK) has recently been awarded the sole distributorship for Lintec Asphalt and Concrete modular plants in the UK and Ireland. Unique in its concept the Lintec range of concrete and asphalt plants offer a high degree of versatility, low capital cost and some interesting options to reduce operational costs.
