Agricultural Industry PVC belts for agricultural applications

Habasit Rossi has launched a range of PVC belts for agricultural applications, which fully comply with EU legislation on direct food contact, eliminating the risk of failing in customer audits. The range is suitable for production of any farm grown produce and applications include harvesting, sorting calibration, packaging and special processes such as inspection machines. Ian Thornham, sales and marketing director for Habasit Rossi, said: “The new range of belts assures a safe production process, as the materials used have absolutely no impact on processed foods. Customer security and peace of mind is guaranteed in terms of audit and lawsuit risks.” “With the updates to EU legislation and the need for our customers to react quickly to these changes, we felt it was

important to ensure we could provide products that are specifically designed to meet these standards. Our customers can now be assured that they are buying into the most compliant products for their applications.”

The new range of belts are low porosity and have homogenous surfaces to support the stringent hygiene requirements associated with the production of food, along with a long product lifetime. All the belts also feature a matt finish to support good release and easy cleaning. Additionally, the matt finish provides a superior look and feel when compared to market-standard glossy material.

Every product provided comes with a Declaration of Compliance (DoC) that clearly states the products’ conformity with the necessary regulations, provides information about the materials used and sets out the conditions of use for the products. All belts are anti-statically equipped to avoid any interference with electronic equipment. Auxiliaries or profiles for the belts are available including incline cleats, V-Guides, corrugated side walls and wave profiles, and the range is available in white, dark green and cobalt blue.

Focus on consumer safety and thusly, legal compliance of processes, equipment and components is becoming increasingly important. In Europe, this means that belts in fruit and vegetable processing must be compliant for dry and aqueous food contact. EU regulation 1935/2004, Article Three defines the general requirements for materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. Habasit materials and belt components not only comply with this legislation, but are safe and applicable for their intended use, and are designed, manufactured and tested thoroughly. www.habasitrossi.co.uk
