Here is a snapshot preview about what some of our expert speakers will cover at the conference.


Craig Cowie Head of Real Estate Investment and Advisory at QInvest Qatar Craig joined QInvest to head up the Real Estate Investment & Advisory business from Al Rajhi Capital in Saudi Arabia where he was Managing Director for Real Estate and Private Equity. Prior to Al Rajhi Capital, Craig held both transacting and management positions within South African investment banks. Craig has focused exclusively on real estate as an asset class for 15 years, having initially worked for a real estate development company. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree in investment management from the University of Natal in South Africa.


Conference topics At Cityscape Qatar, he will speak about topics including the importance of being familiar with the market in terms of geography and type of investment. He will also look at the considerations to be made when investing in hotels, investigate the responsibility of affordable housing and its infrastructure, speak about the consolidation of real estate prospects for healthcare and education and discuss the role that retail developers and owners have to play with regards to social services, sports and cultural services.


Dr. Sami Al-Nwaisir Chairman, Al Sami Holding Group KSA


Dr. Sami Al-Nwaisir is Chairman of the Board Al Sami Holding Group in Saudi Arabia. He is also the CEO of Al Sami Research & Financial Studies and regularly participates in panels on investments, financial issues and real estate. He also acts as a lecturer on international investments and financial market for the Institute of Banking, part of the Saudi Central Bank training centre. Dr. Al- Nwaisir holds a Doctorate Degree in Financial Economics from the University of Middlesex in London.


Conference topics At Cityscape Qatar, he will focus on the shortage of housing units in Saudi Arabia. It is estimated that by today, the shortage of housing units reached more than 1,5 million units in the country with demand drastically superseding supply. Saudi Arabia has a high population growth of 3.2 % annually with more than 60 % of the population being under the age of 30. Dr. Al-Nwaisir will highlight the potential opportunities that exist for real estate and other investors as well as multinational companies to enter the market of affordable housing and will stress on the importance of good planning, commitment and strong local partnership to guarantee success l
